Where Potomac families actually live
Potomac is a CDP of about 46,000 people in Montgomery County, sitting along the Potomac River between Bethesda and the Maryland-Virginia border. Families live in a mix of large-lot single-family neighborhoods (Avenel, Falconhurst, River Falls, Bedfordshire, Inverness), the Travilah and Tobytown areas to the west, and the more compact Potomac Village core. Many households include senior professionals in medicine, law, finance, government, and federal contracting, and parents tend to be deeply involved in their children’s schooling and outside therapies.
